Fibromyalgia?

Have you been told you have fibromyalgia? Do you think you might have fibromyalgia? What is fibromyalgia?

These questions answered here PLUS find out  how I cured my own fibromyalgia.

So, firstly, what exactly is fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia is one of those vague sort of labels for a set of symptoms that don’t fall into any other specific category. Symptoms vary from person to person and are usually pain in legs, arms and other parts of the body, that moves and changes in nature; insomnia; depression; lack of energy; low immunity; no stamina. When the problem areas are tested, they come up as ‘normal’, yet the sufferer is severely debilitated and can sometimes barely function. About the only consistent thing with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia is the ‘pain points’, specific points on the body that are very painful to touch. You can look these up on Google.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia around 2003. I was experiencing severe, random pains in my legs, sometimes a dull ache, sometime sharp, shooting pains, sometimes throbbing. These pains moved from place to place for no apparent reason. They could go from right knee to left thigh and then left foot, right calf on so forth. I couldn’t sleep and I was constantly exhausted.

Over a period of a few years, the pains got worse and worse, to the point where I was unable to work, I couldn’t stand, could hardly walk, couldn’t climb stairs and sometimes could not get out of the car. I was totally debilitated, yet the bone, muscle and nerve tests I’d undergone all showed up as ‘normal’. I thought I would be crippled for the rest of my life.

Currently, I’ve been free of the crippling pain of fibromyalgia for more than three years and I’m happy to share with you how this was achieved by a lucky turn of events in my life. I’d started seeing a few Naturopathy clients again after a two year break and a new client came to me with serious depression (my speciality). She was not responding to my normal treatment and I became very concerned for her welfare and state of mind. This forced me to start looking for alternative modalities and I found NLP.

After attending a seminar, I decided to undergo training in NLP and spent a full year learning these amazingly powerful techniques. Along the way, my suicidal client was cured of her depression and as time went on, I became aware sometimes that I’d been standing for ten minutes without any problems. Then I noticed my legs weren’t aching anymore and eventually I came to understand that I no longer have fibromyalgia.

So what exactly happened to me? I never set out to cure myself, I truly believed I would be crippled for the rest of my life. However, as I was changing my belief systems and underlying emotions, whilst learning the techniques of NLP, my pain went away. As I changed from a victim mentality to one of being responsible for myself and my emotions, all the underlying resentment and pain went away. The physical pain was only a manifestation of the emotional work that needed to be done.

Here’s my challenge to you – are you ready to let go of your emotional pain now? If you are, get ready to experience the improvement in your physical health and well being as well. Don’t listen to people telling you there is no cure for fibromyalgia. I’m the living proof that there is. I’m still amazed at what I can do now, compared to a few years ago.
