It’s All About Balance

What’s going on in your life?
Do you have a balance of interests and activities that keep you inspired, grounded
and fulfilled?
Or do you spend most of your life frantically working, obsessively exercising,
manically cleaning the house or lethargically lounging in front of the television?

So what constitutes a balanced life then?

A balanced life has energy devoted to a variety of areas – there’s work time,
social time, family time, relaxing time, sleep time and spiritual time. When all
these areas are addressed on a regular basis, stress levels drop and enjoyment
and satisfaction with life increases. A balanced life gives fulfillment and a sense
of purpose. Health issues are less likely to arise and anger and aggression are
not an issue.
Imagine how great our politicians would be if they lead balanced lives?
In my work as a Life Coach and NLP practitioner, I see many people who lead
extremely unbalanced lives and who feel stressed and frustrated, depressed
and lacking in direction.
Sometimes a lack of balance shows up as feelings of being overwhelmed by life,
of not coping with the demands and pressures you face daily. It can sometimes
feel that there is no way out, no way this can be changed and that there is just
no time do anything other than the thing that’s consuming your every waking
moment.
This sad state of affairs can always be changed if you really want it to, it’s a
question of taking control of your life and choosing to either re-organize your
time, drop something off your schedule, delegate or do something different.
Einstein said the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and
expect a different result!
How true that is – if you want your life to change, do something different!
