When Life Hands You Lemons…

Sometimes it seems as though all you get in life are lemons, there’s no sweetness
anymore, it’s all bitter and sour. When life feels like that, Life Coaching can help.

Decide to only concern yourself with the things you can control, anything else is
just a waste of effort and energy.
When looking at the things you can’t control, consider what can be learned from
them. Perhaps they are there for a reason, so you can learn something? The
interesting thing about situations that are put in your path for learning purposes
is that when you get the lesson, the issue disappears.
Consider the people who push all your buttons and wind you up on a regular basis.
What is it about them that aggravates you so much? Is it that they are reflecting
back to you something within yourself that you don’t like? Interesting…
So, back to the things that are within your control – rather than looking at the
big picture, which can be overwhelming at times, look at the most immediate
issue or problem and take small bites at solving or changing the situation. Once
you’ve achieved a small success, look to the next one and so on. Before you know it,
you will have made enormous progress and the issues and problems will have
disappeared. Lemons gone – lemonade on tap!

Let’s summarize – what can you control?
– what can you not control?
– what can you learn?
– is someone reflecting back an aspect of yourself that needs
to change?
– what is the most immediate small thing that you can change?

And remember – what you look for in life is what you get. If you’re looking for
lemons, then you’ll find them – wheelbarrows full of lemons to bring all the
sourness of a miserable life.
So why not look for sweet oranges instead? Focus on goodness and happiness
and it will come, just as surely as the reverse is true.
